Before you start
Before your first level, it helps to know that the game is about the build as much as the driving. Every level asks you to balance blocks, weapons and energy. Treat the first few levels as practice: try different weapon positions, notice which side the zombies press hardest, and see how quickly energy runs out. What you learn there makes later upgrades far more effective, because you will know what your fortress actually needs rather than guessing.
How it plays
Each level puts your vehicle on a road through a city overrun by zombies. You move forward, and the undead come at you from ahead and from the sides. The aim is to reach the end of the level with your fortress still standing.
The fortress is the heart of the game. You add blocks to your transport to make it taller and sturdier, then place weapons on those blocks. Poki’s description mentions flamethrowers and traps among them, and positioning matters: a weapon facing the wrong way does little while zombies reach a weaker side.
Energy is the resource that limits what you can build and use during a level, so every choice has a cost. Spending everything early can leave you short when a bigger group arrives.
Destroying zombies earns coins. Between levels, coins are spent on upgrades for the vehicle and its equipment. The further you get, the larger the hordes become, so the game is a steady loop of fight, earn, upgrade and push a little further.

Tips for a first session
- Build up before you build out. A taller, sturdier base keeps weapons alive longer than a wide, fragile one.
- Cover the sides as well as the front; zombies do not only arrive head-on.
- Keep a little energy in reserve for the end of a level, where groups tend to be larger.
- Put your first coins into the upgrade that helps every level, rather than a single powerful weapon.
- If a level fails, change one part of the build before trying again, so you can see what made the difference.
Who it suits
It suits players who enjoy planning a build and seeing it improve over many short sessions. The zombies are cartoon-style, but the theme is combat against the undead, so younger players may not be the intended audience.
Worth knowing
- Difficulty rises steadily, so progress depends on upgrades as much as on choices during a level.
- Controls are simple taps and clicks, which makes it comfortable on a phone.
- The game page on Poki shows advertising around the game.
